OFAC SDN monitoring after RSS retirement
OFAC retired its public RSS feed. Teams still need a durable workflow: detect that the SDN extract moved, summarize row-level changes, and verify against the official source before any business decision. Email broadcasts from Treasury remain useful for awareness—they are not a row-level CSV diff.
Recommended monitoring stack
- Awareness: OFAC Recent Actions and/or Treasury email subscriptions for narrative designations.
- Detection: compare consecutive OFAC SDN CSV snapshots on a fixed schedule (UTC).
- Summary: capture additions, removals, and field-level modifications with identifiers when the source provides them.
- Verification: open the governing OFAC publication or SDN.CSV export every time counts are non-zero.
- Escalation: your internal program decides screening and transaction treatment—we do not.
